An Alaskan organisation, Standing Together Against Rape, sponsored a lottery to benefit victims of sexual abuse. The prize, $500,000 was the biggest in Alaskan history. After tax the winner gets about $350,000.
It was won by, how’s this for irony, Alec Ahsoak, 53, a three-times convicted paedophile. Ahsoak or it could be ARSEHOLE, was first convicted in the 1990’s and served a prison term. He was caught again in 2000 and again got a very short four-year term.

Who knows how many more victims there have been? There is a call for him to be denied the prize or for the money to be given to his victims but this is a legal minefield and in all probability would not succeed.
It is also possible that the victims, now that he has money, sue him for compensation. If they do I hope they take every penny from him.
