Throughout China’s labour camps and police stations, practitioners of Falun Gong have been subjected to torture and humiliation. It has been particularly bad for women and both male and female police performing acts of the most horrendous torture and sexual abuse.
On June 29 The Duck Shoot broke the story that the Obama administration was preventing access to areas where thousands of sea creatures were dead and injured. The question asked was why the US government cover-up? Watch the CNN video where Anderson Cooper discusses how the Obama administration is limiting access to the media to areas affected by the BP Macondo well spill.
The shorelines are littered with thousands of dead fish and birds. A thick carpet of foul-smelling sludge covers acres of beaches and marshland. The ruptured deep sea oil well continues to gush thousands of barrels of this deadly pollutant every hour – largely unabated. So where are the pictures to support the above statements? Apart from the same footage of the deep-sea gush that gets re-run by TV news channels every day there are few because the United States is covering up this disaster.
Having watched J K Rowling giving the speech on the following three videos I have learned that she is not just driven and tenacious but humble, empathetic and kind. Watch the videos I think you will then understand what I mean.
The creeping domination of “don’t be evil” Internet company Google of the Internet has now become so worrying that people and governments are questioning their motives. Nobody who is serious about using the internet for business, pleasure or campaigning can avoid using many of Google’s services.
The Iceland referendum is under way. It is widely expected that the people will vote NO! I think they should after all it wasn’t only the Icelandic bankers that behaved badly. What is more the British government has acted like a school yard bully to this tiny country.
The British General Election will be in May or June. Remember the war-mongers that voted to send our troops to their deaths in the illegal wars – vote them out! Remember the cheats who stole from us with phony expenses (including the Prime Minister!) – vote them out! Remember the MPs who voted our freedoms away – vote them out!
British police have been abusing their powers under Section 44 of the Terrorism Act 2000 and the Government wants them to carry on doing so. Here are some of the reactions from the press and human rights organisations.
The Government yet again have egg on their face. I don’t think there has been a British government that has broken the law as much as this one which came to power before the turn of the century. More innocent people are going to be abused by out-of-control cops because the Home Secretary Alan Johnson has given them the green-light despite the ruling.
The war in Iraq was illegal so these guys have some justification for their anger. But even if the wars had been legal all war is immoral and both wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have resulted in thousands of Muslims (and I am not forgetting the thousands of soldiers from the allied forces) loosing their lives. How would we feel if the boot was on the other foot?
Americans Laura Ling and Euna Lee were found guilty and sentenced to five years hard labour but the North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il pardoned them after talks with Clinton. It is nice to report some good news for a change.
