The puppet government of Iraq, that wouldn’t last five minutes if the USA wasn’t propping it up with millions of US citizens tax dollars, is considering emptying death row with secret mass executions.
The Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is ruling the Iraqi people with fear – tweaked a little maybe – but little has changed since the removal of Saddam Hussein and his murderous cohorts. Suspects are still tortured, prisoners are ill-treated and women prisoners experience sexual abuse and rape.
There are nine hundred twenty-five prisoners on death row, this includes at least17 and possibly as many as 126 women. It is unclear whether any sentences will be commuted.
The World Coalition Against The Death Penalty describes the death penalty thus: “The death penalty is a barbaric and inhumane act of revenge that serves only to provide those in power with a means to terrify an already frightened population.”
One hundred and thirty nine countries have abolished the death penalty either in law or practice.
