Paedophile Brian Hoverd, 46 raped young girls in the 1980s and 1990s. He has been convicted of seven counts of rape and 10 counts of indecent ssault and sentenced to 14-years behind bars. He was also put on the Sex Offenders register for life.
Oxford Crown Court heard that at least one of his victims was only 3-years-old when the abuse began. The abuse continued until she was nine. Another of his victims testified that she was so young when he started the attacks she couldn’t remember her age.
Yet another of his victims was 13 when he grabbed her as she was walking past a cemetery and raped her.
The Duck Shoot says: The Thames Valley Police and the Oxford Crown Court have done a good job removing this pervert from society. But is the sentence severe enough? Child sex offenders should get stiffer sentences than are meted out at the moment. With good behaviour Hoverd’s sentence will probably qualify for early release. Even if he served the entire fourteen years he would only be sixty years old on release. There have many active paedophiles caught and convicted in their twilight years.
