Police Brutality: Oakland Police Excessive Force Censured By Judge

U.S. District Judge Thelton Henderson said he “remains in disbelief” that the Oakland Police Department continually failed to adopt reforms it was ordered to adopt way back in2003. A monitor was appointed by the judge in 2003 to ensure compliance with the terms of a $10.5 million settlement of a lawsuit. The lawsuit cost the city $10.5 million when victims of a notorious group of police officers known as “The Riders” won their case.
Recently, demonstrating that they have learnt nothing from that court defeat, they brutally crushed the peaceful Occupy protest badly injuring a veteran of the Iraqi war. These thugs in uniform are encouraged by their superiors and the elite class they serve.
