Exactly just what this incident is about I cannot say. There is not a lot of information either on YouTube or in the comments. However, the child looks about 10-years old and it took three cops to carry out an arrest including ‘cuffing’ the little girl.
This child is just sitting quietly and these brave cops frighten the crap out of her by arresting and restraining her. Her distress is obvious. The images and sound cannot be misinterpreted. I just wanted to get into this video and rescue her from these thugs. This is a clear case of child abuse by the police.
This kind of shit just makes me hate cops, these people are inhuman. But I reproduced this comment from among over 400 responses. “I don’t care what the story behind this video? was. It is never OK to place a child in handcuffs. What kind of message did this send to the child about police. They are taught that they can trust and tell us as police officers anything. They are not old enough to understand the “necessity” of restraints. This video truly sickens me as a parent and as a police officer.”
Did that restore my confidence in the police? The ‘Police Force’, no! Individual cops? Yes! How many times do we hear the police spokesman claiming that an investigation has found the police actions “appropriate” or “the officer did nothing wrong”. Bullshit! Bad cops should be flushed out of the service and only cops like the correspondent above allowed to serve..
I am not anti-cop, although that may appear to be the case, I am anti-BAD-cop. We need police forces throughout the world that get the ‘bad guys’ without alienating and harassing the general public. Cops should be above reproach and brave enough to tackle dangerous criminals.
I will continue to feature reports of police brutality until I see a real change in attitude, when the only bad-cop videos on YouTube are the old ones and when we see bad cops sacked, prosecuted and in the worst cases jailed.
The UK and USA are supposed to have the fairest legal systems in the world. If that is true then I pity the people in other countries. But what I do know is that until there is a country that sets a fine example in human and civil rights we have little chance of these abuses becoming history.

If the “voice of reason” is genuine then that is an opinion only, police officer or otherwise. I’m sure that in the vast majority of cases, 99+%, handcuffing a child is unnecessary. However I’m sure that in a few extreme cases it could be justified. Maybe, just maybe, this was one such case? Until it is shown otherwise then you should hold back your venom.

The answer is no. I’ve just got a brain and like to look at things objectively. Maybe the cops did cause the girl distress but maybe there was no other way. If she was a self harmer for example then what is the lesser of two evils? Handcuffing her for her own safety or letting her do something bad to herself? Who knows? None of us know as we weren’t there. The male cop does appear to know the girl though and he does mention the girl’s mother.
Anyway I will leave it at that. There is no point trying to reason with someone like you. Somebody who shoots off his mouth without engaging his brain. Someone who doesn’t let facts (or lack of them) get in the way of a good story. Goodbye Mr Sensationalism. Come back when you have got a decent argument
Joe you are talking out of your arse again. There is no disputing the distress these cops have caused this child. They are putting handcuffs on this little girl and that is child abuse. To even threaten such an action is child abuse.

How can you call this “child abuse” or say that the cops are “thugs” based on that video? Who knows what’s going on or why the young girl is being handcuffed? From that short video it is impossible to say.
From listening to the male cop it would appear that he knows this young girl and that the girl’s mother is in the room with them. For all we know this girl may have been a self harmer and the handcuffs were required for her own safety. This is merely speculation as none of us know any of the facts behind this case.
You say that you are not anti-police but I think you are. You act as judge, jury and executioner without any real knowledge. As I have already stated in other posts, you should wait until you hear hard facts before nailing your colours to the mast. This may give your opinions a bit more credibility and separate you from the numerous other websites that engage only in anti-police tirades.
