Police Brutality: UK Police Taser & Punch Unarmed Man

Rory Rickwood's Taser Protest Graphic

UK police Taser and punch unarmed man

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has announced it is to launch a formal investigation into the arrest of a Nottingham man who was shot with a Taser stun gun three time and punched in the head by out-of-control cops.

They had arrived at the scene in response to a call from night-club door staff. It is not known at the moment why they were called but the police say one of them was assaulted and needed hospital treatment. Does it look like any of them was injured? No, it’s the stock excuse from cops when it is they who have broken the law, they who have done the assaulting and they who have used excessive force.

Should Tasers Be Banned?
I invite you to comment on this story and the whole issue of the use of Tasers by the police. What’s your opinion? Should they be banned? Should only well-trained officers have them?

The Duck Shoot Opinion: Tasers should be banned. The body investigating police complaints should be genuinely independent and incidents should automatically go before a judge and jury. Where a member of the public is injured or killed by police the officer or officers should be suspended without pay until a court clears them. That would see a reduction in cops using illegal tactics and it would restore public faith in the police.

The IPCC is not independent at all it is police investigating police, it’s a joke.

I hate banning people from commenting but this commenter is a pain in the arse! He demands responses that I don’t always have time to answer, berates me for not doing so within a time scale HE demands and continues to spout the same old arguments that have already been replied to.

He said he wasn’t going to comment anymore but a man with this big an ego can’t resist. Go away Joe I have the right to choose who comments on MY blog and you are the only one I have banned.

He isn’t banned because he disagrees with me but because he is a bloody nuisance.

  • Nathaniel, just before Christmas I was at a club in central London at birthday of a friend. I was assaulted by two bouncers and elected to wait for police to make a complaint against them. At no time was I combatant and tried to to make my complaint to the officer that arrived. Result I was arrested. roughly handcuffed, hauled off to the police cells and denied access to a solicitor, doctor or a drink for six hours. The spurious charge of “drunk and disorderly” was dropped of course. My wrists hurt for a week, the bruises, some inflicted by the bouncers and some by the cop caused me pain for much longer. I am 65-years old by the way. Is that what your police course teaches these wankers in uniform. A complaint is being made to the IPCC but have little hope of receiving justice.

  • Police may use no more force than necessary. They should not hit, rough up, or otherwise hurt a person who is unarmed, acts in a non-threatening manner, and follows their directions. Even if a person is aggressive, police must stop using force, as soon as they restrain the individual. Police course should include more information on how to detain a person with minimum power.

hello dave hope you are well,i have photos from the kicking i told you about go to see the surgeon in jan,2010,it takes month to get police for brutality but ive i had donr this to them i would be on remand, will send you pics if you would like a look kind regards wayne

  • Absolutely! There is an upsurge of brutality in many of the police forces across the world as weak governments award them more and more power and arm them with more and more weapons.

The more weapons the cops get, the more the criminals carry. In the middle are the ordinary citizens who are no longer shown any respect by these crazy cops. Now the public are losing respect for the cops and their masters. Who pays the salaries of the politicians and their agents of force? We do of course – one day there will be a backlash.

    Typical UK police brutality
how hard is it just to turn the man on his back
and place cuffs on him??, there were 4 cops and 1
man, if four cops cant even cuff one man, then
there is a massive problem with the police organisation
