Don’t answer a question with a question Dave. I asked you about your take on the IPCC and questioned what you said about it. I did not attack you. You have not attempted to answer it.
You said last week or so that you would only refuse to publish my posts if i didn’t give my email address. I have since done this and still your not happy. Let people make their own judgements on what I say. I do not rant, my arguments are fair and well explained.
I’m sure that deep down you enjoy me airing my views to you and your readers. Wouldn’t life be dull if we all had the same opinions.
As for your question Dave, I just don’t think it does. Yes we can all view cctv and form our own opinions. The cctv is a piece of evidence to be considered, just as an eye witness statement would be. Viewing either one does not mean we are witnesses. That is my opinion and I’ll stick with it.

So Joe, why doesn’t viewing CCTV make everyone who views it a witness?

Polly, not sure I agree with you that viewing cctv makes you a witness, but there is no doubt that the cop concerned certainly has some serious questions to answer. It does appear on the face of it that the red mist has descended over him and he has lost control over himself.

[Editor's note: The next two paragraphs are just an attack and contains assumptions. Actually if Joe read my posts with an open mind he would see that his questions are already answered. However, I have saved the particular rant he is referring to and it will become part of a post that I will publish when I have time.]

It’s also fortunate for you that Mr Knight agrees with what you say. When he doesn’t he tends to delete your posts and ignore any questions that you ask him. That’s what he did with me. In fact you probably won’t even see this post as no doubt it will be deleted.
Dave, nicely avoided by the way. I can only take your refusal to answer my question and the subsequent deletion of my last few posts as an indication that you have no answer for me, and don’t want other viewers to see this. Pity.

I absolutely agree Polly, if a son or daughter of mine were commit a crime like this I’d disown them unless I saw genuine remorse and some action to see that the victim was compensated.

I would certainly advise them to find other employment too. But all too often these officers are backed up by their superiors.

In my opinion, the video makes anyone who watches it a “witness”. I personally witnessed Paul Schene run into the room like someone’s drunk dad, grab her violently by the hair throwing her to the ground, then pummeling her in the chest so hard that she probably had a bruised sternum (she complained later of pain in that area and the inability to breathe, a bruised sternum will do this, and it’s extremely painful).

I witnessed that. And so did you. And everyone who saw the video.

That’s the beauty of video. Hopefully it will catch a lot more of these criminals. They’re no different than any other criminal, save maybe an authoritarian fetish.

If I saw my son do something like that I would be ashamed that he came out of my body. That was anything but “manly”. But—badge bunnies everywhere seem to think it is.
