Rory Rickwood's Taser Protest Image
I find it incredible that there are, despite all the evidence, still people who believe the Taser gun to be non-lethal.
The United Nations has declared it an instrument of torture. Amnesty International has been warning about their use for years.
But the death toll continues to rise. The torture continues against children, pregnant women, paraplegics, the mentally ill, the elderly and citizens who have posed no threat to the authorities or the public.
A 14-year-old unarmed girl who had not committed any criminal act is Tasered in the head by a police chief. See the Huffington Post for the video report. Does that injury look non-lethal to you?

A 10-year-old unarmed, distressed girl, Tasered for not taking a shower before going to bed. So can we can deduce from this incident that had a Taser not been available to the police officer he would have shot her?
After all Tasers are in the words Of Taser International Inc “a safer alternative to other uses of force” and “TASER ECDs use proprietary technology to incapacitate dangerous, combative, or high-risk subjects who pose a risk to law enforcement officers, innocent citizens, or themselves in a manner that is generally recognized as a safer alternative to other uses of force”. So using a Taser according to this Taser-International-Inc-trained-cop is safer than allowing her to go to bed unwashed.
Does this story shock you? What do you think should happen to the mother and the cop? More on this story here.
The father of a two and half year-old daughter, Andre Thomas, 37, Tasered by violent cops and died. The Taser non-lethal? Link to story.
Canadian Mounties killed unarmed Robert Dziekanski with multiple Taser shots. A criminal? An illegal immigrant? Smuggler? No none of those, not that being a person in any of those catagories warrants being Tasered and killed.
The reason he was Tasered was that he couldn’t speak English, he was from Poland. He didn’t understand their instructions. Convinced yet? The Taser is a lethal weapon a weapon of torture and death. Go here.
Still think Tasers are non-lethal? Do you believe cops can be trusted with Tasers? Who do cops really serve?

You know as much about an electricity as pig about stellar travel.
Volts do not travel at all. Electrons do, but their velocity is constans and it is more less equal to light speed.
Current (measured in Amps) represents how much electrons could travel through a conductor.
Electric potential (measured in Volts) represents what is the total difference in electric charge between two conductors.
Amps * Volts = Electric energy which can kill.
While electric welder have low Voltage, it can provide a lot of current and therefore energy which can melt thick metal.
You can however take both electrodes in hands and feel nothing, because natural resistance of your body does not allow much current to flow through your arms. Total amount of energy flowing through your body is minimal.
Tasers in other hand, can provide 50k Volts, but at the same time very little current. But your body natural resistance means nothing for such voltage and whole energy stored in taser goes through your body.
That is why tasers are so effective and works through clothes and so on.
I haven’t seen any reports of tasered people on drugs who dies.
I have seen a lot of reports of tasered clean people who dies.

All non-lethal weapons can become lethal. Pepper spray someone who is asthmatic and prone to panic attacks and they will like asphyxiate. Use a baton on a severely violent and combative subject who is constantly moving and mid-swing the officer could unintentionally hit the head causing fatal traumatic brain injury. Use a taser on a subject who is near a ledge and the subject falls due to muscular incapacitation resulting in serious injury or death. Yes, cops make stupid mistakes. They’re are human. Should a cop use a taser on an elderly woman, probably not. But take away non-lethal weapons and all cops have are their hands and their gun. Most people who died after being tased were high on drugs such as cocaine and PCP and the level of violence those subject were projecting warranted lethal force. The intent of using the taser is to preserve life and inflict the least amount of injury possible. An officer needs to use good judgement with a taser just the same as a pistol. And your title “50,000 volts…” is misleading. Stick a fork in light socket and let me know if you live through that or come out uninjured. That is only 120 volts. It’s the high amperage (amps) that kills. Amperage is the speed that volts travel. The amperage of a taser is incredibly lower than that of household outlet and is incapable of causing death through electric shock. Is it painful? Absolutely!!! I know from being tased myself. I’m still alive and uninjured. The main purpose of the taser though is to mimick the electrical impulse that controls voluntary movement of SKELETAL muscles thus causing a subject to stop moving arms, legs, etc during the 5 to 7 second bursts. It does not affect digestive muscle or cardiovascular muscle. Do some research and stop making conclusions of news stories and reports of bad police.
