Brazil returns 15,000 tonnes Of illegally exported toxic waste to the UK. Three men who are alleged to have sent it to Brazil labelled recyclable plastic have arrested and face prosecution. They have been bailed until the end of October.

Initially the Brazilians found sixty-four containers but this has increased to 89. Waste can be send abroad to be recycled but it is illegal to export it for disposal. If found guilty the perpetrators face a heavy fine and up to two years in jail.
