Student Loans Chief Ed Lester Tax Dodger (Video)

Ed Lester, the chief of the Student Loans Company (SLC), has been paying only 21% tax instead of the 50% applicable to his £182,000 salary. The incredible thing is that his tax dodge was approved by several high ranking government officials including several unnamed at the HMRC.

It seems the Government’s old boy network has been working overtime to defeat regulations brought in in the year 2000 to stop such tax evasion. Ed Lester isn’t the only one getting this special treatment, there are NHS and local government managers who have been allowed the same tax discounts.

The chief secretary to the treasury, Danny Alexander, was hauled before Parliament and questioned. He has agreed to cancel the arrangement, but it seems that clawing back the thousands of lost tax was not addressed. Mr Alexander was one of the officials that approved the arrangement along with Universities minister, David Willets, Lord O’Donnell and the nameless ones.

Business Secretary Vince Cable said of the SLC chief, “Mr Lester is an exceptionally useful individual”. TheDuckShoot says that Vince Cable and his cronies are exceptionally useless individuals”.
