Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, Prime Minister, Spain: His list of crimes include bombing Kurdish villages with mustard gas, sarin, tabub and VX between 1987 and 1988. It is that up to 5000 Kurds were gassed to death. When the Kurdish resistance continued his troops destroyed thousands of villages and killed an estimated 180,000 Kurds. But haning him is wrong. The puppet government of Iraq, that wouldn’t last five minutes if the USA wasn’t propping it up with millions of US citizens tax dollars, is considering emptying death row with secret mass executions. China continues to execute individuals convicted by unfair trials despite world-wide condemnation. Calls for open and transparent trials is ignored and hasty hearings where the accused are denied free legal representation are then upheld by equally dubious higher court judgements. I awake this morning to read of the untimely death of a fellow Brit, murdered by the Chinese regime who’s human rights record rivals that of the Nazis. “If I come out of prison, I want to continue my education. I would like to be free. One of the judges promised that I would be pardoned….Mother, I am innocent.” The words of young Iranian Delara Derabi, the day before she was hung by the neck until dead on 1 May 2009. The US Supreme Court has ordered that Troy Davis should be given a new hearing so that evidence not originally heard at his trial proves he is innocent. The State of Georgia fought to the last to have the the appeal rejected. These people really want to kill this guy innocent or not. Two Conservative justices dissented they were Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas. Thousands of people all over world are on death row. Many of them, some estimate 50%, are NOT GUILTY of ANY crime. Wrong and malicious convictions have already condemned too many innocent people to be killed by the state.
