Today is my birthday but the second coming didn’t happen in 1944. Pity really I would have quite enjoyed walking on water.
As regular readers will have noticed there haven’t been any posts for a couple of weeks. That is because I was a victim of police brutality on Saturday 13 and I am still suffering from the effects of it. All the details after Christmas.
Amnesty is appealing for lovers of justice and peace to take a small action to help make war criminals accountable.
It is quite evident here that Ms Williams, a black woman who lives in a poor area, is regarded as trash by the racist cops. Again and again we see disadvantaged people treated as nothing by the authorities. And it’s happening more and more in the so-called ‘Land of the Free’.
Relatives say the police used excessive force just to quiet down the backyard party. The home-owner Edgar Rodriguez, says the celebration came to an abrupt halt when his 55-year-old father, Edgar Rodriguez, Sr. was asked for an ID. But Rodriguez Sr. doesn’t speak English. His son had to interpret for him in the above news video. So there’s a good chance he didn’t understand what the cops were asking. He handed it over and the cops Tasered him three times.
The officers are accused of a form of ‘waterboarding’ when suspects’ heads were held down a toilet bowl and the toilet flushed. These people must be brought to justice the are not fit to serve in the British Police
In the run-up to the August anniversary of the end of World War II, Amnesty International is calling for justice for former ‘comfort women’ in Japan.
During the war, up to 200,000 women and girls were forced into sexual slavery by the Japanese military. These women and girls were kept in ‘comfort stations’ in China, Taiwan, Borneo, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar (formerly known as Burma), Indonesia and many of the Pacific Islands.
Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to all who believe in justice and human rights.
Guantanamo is a concentration camp. I was born at the end 1944 into a world at war and as I learned of the atrocities of the Nazis and their camps I thought (hoped) such terrible things would never be repeated.
Sixty three years later concentration camps are still in operation all over the world along with the use of torture. Unbelievably the UK Government is party to the excesses of ‘friendly’ governments including the United States of America.
