Human Rights: Exactly What Is Torture?

Ask the question “exactly what is torture?” and most people will proffer an answer. But the mental picture conjured up in your audiences mind will probably differ from person to person. She compares the history of the African-American civil rights struggle with the emerging Uighur struggles in China.

Successful Start To The G20 Protests In London

Today’s march was the start of week-long protests demanding action on poverty, climate change and justice. The groups attending include trade unions, environmentalists, churches and anti-war groups.

Placards bearing the slogans “Put People First”, “Jobs, Justice & Climate”, Out Of Iraq and Afghanistan” and “Hang A Banker” were waved by the marchers.
