I voted tactically for my excellent local MP, Simon Hughes and for a fairer voting system. I hope the LibDems don’t let us down. I am also supporting the 38 Degrees campaign. We need to concentrate their minds and prove how much we care. Let’s make sure Lib Dems wake up to big adverts in national newspapers on Monday morning, with a simple message:”Nick Clegg, don’t sell out on PR – Fair votes now!”

Despite an official report that pointed the finger of responsibility at the management the recommendations are yet to be fully implemented. And now management want to increase the dangers more by making cuts in the name of “cost-cutting”. Obviously the rail bosses don’t give toss for their employees or the public. Time and time again the RMT is forced to take action to protect it’s members and rail customers. If you live in the United Kingdom and don’t know that privatisation of the railways, including London’s Tube, is a complete and utter failure you must also believe in fairies. Our money was shovelled into the privateers coffers by the British Government faster than coal into a steam engine’s firebox. Except when the stoker fed [...] Governments are elected to represent the people. One of the aspirations of the people when voting includes the expectation that the Government will protect them from theft and fraud. Mobile phones have now become instruments of payment and therefore we need the same protection applied to them that is only available at present on credit card transactions. Scammers can just steal from your mobile phone account with impunity. Guantanamo is a concentration camp. I was born at the end 1944 into a world at war and as I learned of the atrocities of the Nazis and their camps I thought (hoped) such terrible things would never be repeated. Sixty three years later concentration camps are still in operation all over the world along with the use of torture. Unbelievably the UK Government is party to the excesses of ‘friendly’ governments including the United States of America. |
